Fossil Free WSU

About the divestment

We are calling on Washington State                                               University to act on climate change by                                           divesting its endowment funds from the                                       world's largest 200 publicly listed fossil fuel                                   companies. Doing so will honor WSU's pledge as a charter signatory of the American College and University Presidents' Climate Commitment to "be a leader on climate and sustainability action for the sake of their students and society.

WSUS students are currently pursuing this path through the new sustainability task force.

Waldon Andrews

"As Washington's land grant university, we have a commitment to protecting the natural world and discovering ways to benefit the communities around us through research and projects focused on the natural world. Investing in fossil fuels does not align with this commitment, as it supports businesses that have been shown time and again to be extremely damaging to the natural world through spills, environmental destruction, and pollution."
